MP to protest proposed dog ban

Celia Barlow MP will join this Saturday’s protest  Celia Barlow MP has combined forces with local dog owners to organise a mass doggy demo against a proposed dog ban on all Brighton & Hove beaches.

The demonstration will leave Hove Lagoon at 11am on Saturday 27th Februrary and participants will then march to Hove Town Hall.

Celia said: “I am delighted to be able to take part in this protest against these ill thought out and discriminatory proposals.  Dog owners do not have enough places to walk their dogs in the city already, and a full beach ban would compound this situation.

“I think that it is important to have sections of the beach which are ‘dog-free’, to provide places where parents and others can enjoy dog free areas along the sea front, if they wish to do so.

“However, the right for dogs to be allowed on our beaches must be coupled with the responsibility for owners to behave responsibly and ensure their pets and kept under control and any mess is cleaned up.”
