This month, we’re celebrating sixty years of our National Health Service.

It’s easy to forget what the health service was like just eleven years ago. There were waiting lists of over two years and low staff morale. Now, there are over one million new operations being performed each year and here in Brighton & Hove we’ve got a brand new, state-of-the-art children’s hospital.
By 2009 the majority of GP surgeries will be open for at least one evening or weekend session every week.

"On this landmark anniversary, I’d like to thank everyone who works in the NHS be they a Surgeon, GP, Nurse or Volunteer. I’m sure we all recall times when the kind words or helping hand of an NHS worker have made all the difference at a difficult time.
As your MP I can give you this guarantee. I will always fight to improve the NHS in Hove & Portslade and will work to ensure that it is fit for modern life."
I want to know what you'd like to see happen in the NHS. Please get in touch by writing, emailing, phoning my office or you can comment below.
